Entering basic data (incl. bottle label) Data such as name, type of wine, country, year, producer etc. are dealt with as basic data by the WinWein database. WinWein wants you to enter at least the name of the wine in question, other details are optional. Apparently the more data (as suggested by the software) you enter the more sense the compilation will make.
Sheets for evaluation When evaluating wines our WinWein-evaluation-sheets, either the DLG (5 points) or Johnson/Broadbent (20 points) will come in handy. "Descriptive" facts of the 20 point dialogue may by printed out with cellar-index-cards.
Notebook function In addition to the ample space for additional notes on each wine WinWein also offers a direct access option to a website of your choice with further
information.
Vintage tables With the sorting into years a grouping appears in the list of results which displays the respective years in stock. The index-card window offers a choice with the help of which an evaluation of years and maturity will be shown when activated. The symbols used will be explained simultaneously in the status row. The table of years may be updated online with the update assistant.
Keeping the cellar-book Today the most difficult part of keeping a cellar-book is not the number of bottles but the number of different wines. Hence information on occasion and maturity may also be entered. Based on the information on all the wines drunk over the last 365 days the statistic "maturity" will display the tital consumption and compare to the stock of wines ready for consumption in the coming years. This solution
significantly eases management of the stock of wine ready for drinking.
Vinotè Tags Using the Vinoté Tags will further simplify cellar management. Each bottle is marked with its own tag with a unique number and barcode. With these tags you will be able to definitely spot any individual wine.
Managing of addresses of producers and merchants WinWein manages
the addresse, phone-numbers, URLs and email-addresse of producers and dealers of wine. All wines of a producer or a dealer can this be sorted and displayed or printed out.
Vine varieties and lexicon (ABC of Oenology) Together with information on over 300 vine varieties
the "ABC of enology" with its roughly 500 entries explaining special terminology is designed to enlighten wine drinkers when it comes to understand the often cryptic remarks on wine labels. The lexicon can be complimented with own terms.
Statistic functions The graphic display of the distribution of the types of wine (red, white etc.) coupled with the composition of the wine stock in terms of years will always
give you an accurate idea of the investments in the wine cellar. It is thus possible to learn what the value of the stock in the cellar is at any given time. A detailed statistic of consumption also helps staying in the know as to consumption is for a month, a year and in total.
Print function WinWein prints stock, cellar-book and address lists, cellar index cards with various options of sorting and sheets for booking in,
bottle and storage labels. The "wheel of wine aroma" helps to simplify gegustation terminology and also servs to create you own wine vocabulary.
Im- and Exportfunction for Microsoft Excel sheets To add as many wines as quickly and easily as possible to WinWein there is a special import-function. While doing so special excel-sheets for import are being included into the WinWein database. With the import even an
update of the of individual sets of data is possible, all with regard to "order-numbers". All sets of data can be converted into an excel sheet (V5/95/97/2000) for further processing, creating of print-lists and the like.
Wine quotes & anectodes It is possible to display wine quotes and anecdotes with every start of the software. By clicking on "continue" a random generator will choose others to be
displayed. Quotes can be added individually by user.
Online-support system In addition to the short helps (Bubble-Help) there are texts for help in depth for almost all entry field and functions to be found in the WinWein online support. The print version of the WinWein online support is a comprehensive handbook.
